Pork chops and stuffing in crock pot

It took some time for me to get my kids to eat pork chops. It wasn’t like I didn’t cook pork chops on a regular basis, but they preferred not to eat them. But, I did not give up as I like a good moist, fork tender pork chops with mashed potatoes and gravy.

This was one of the first recipes they would eat. I am not sure if it was the stuffing, that they love, or if it was just finally the right time for them to like the pork chops.

4 ingredients in this easy recipe. The stuffing comes out moist and tender as does the chops. You can not beat this recipe.

Frugal Tips:

  • I prefer to use Stove Top Stuffing. I love the taste and the ease of making it. During the holidays, this brand usually goes on sale and you can match the sale price with a coupon.
  • Purchasing a whole pork loin, on sale of course, and ask the butcher to slice half the loin for boneless pork chops and keep the other half whole for another meal.

Do pork chops get more tender the longer you cook them in a crock pot?

Does meat get more tender the longer you cook it in a slow cooker? Not if you're using a leaner cut in the slow cooker, like chicken breast or pork chops. To help keep these cuts moist, decrease the cook time to 2-4 hours.

How do you keep pork chops from drying out in a crock pot?

How do you keep pork chops from drying out? Dredging the pork in flour and seasonings helps retain the juices. The addition of broth adds extra moisture, while the low and slow cooking prevents these pork chops from drying out. We recommend cooking pork at 145 degrees to retain moisture.

What is the best way to cook pork chops without them drying out?

High-heat frying sears them to a golden brown; and a moderately hot oven (400 degrees F) bakes the pork chops gently enough to keep them from drying out. This "sear-roasting" method is a great way to cook pork chops in the oven: Fry one side to golden brown, then flip, and place the chops directly in the oven.

Do you need to add liquid to crock pot when cooking pork?

      3. Add about 1/4 Cup Liquid Per Pound of Pork. Aromatics aside, the actual liquid you put in the crock pot is what will flavor the pork the most. I use the term "liquid" loosely—some of your liquid could be ketchup or barbecue sauce or mustard.
