THIS SECTION IS DESIGNED TO ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS REGARDING MICROBLADING

We ask that you please read through this entire section before arriving for your appointment.  We want you to have the best brows possible.  In order to do that, we need to have you understand and adhere to the following instructions.  You are responsible for being prepared for your appointment.

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a Permanent Makeup procedure that is specialized cosmetic tattooing.  A hand tool is used to deposit sterile, hypoallergenic cosmetic pigments into the dermal layer of the skin with a single use, individual sterile needles.  Microblading and Permanent Cosmetics are not the same process used in conventional tattooing.  These pigments will fade over time, unlike conventional tattoos, due to the different pigments used for the face, unlike body ink.  There is a common misconception that Permanent Makeup will be visible forever.  It is called permanent because, even though it made fade, particles remain in the skin.

Most importantly, Microblading is an art, not a science.

Why should I try Microblading?

Microblading offers you the ability to look and feel beautiful 24/7, no matter where you are.  You can wake up in the morning, get out of the pool, work out, all with beautiful brows, even if you struggle with patchy, sparse, scarred, or non-existent eyebrows.  Microblading offers so much more flexibility, no more having to spend time every morning filling in your brows!

Am I a good candidate for Microblading?

Almost every woman can benefit from Permanent Makeup, whether you want to trouble shoot a specific area or create an entirely new brow scratch.  As long as you meet the minimum age requirements and are relatively healthy, you are an excellent candidate.  The best clients for Microblading are looking to simplify their makeup routine, lead a busy or active lifestyle, or those who can't wear traditional cosmetics due to sensitivities or certain allergies.

Those who are NOT ideal candidates for Microblading :

  • are under the age of 18.

  • are pregnant or breastfeeding (please consult your doctor).

  • have been on Accutane within one year.

  • have irritation of the skin such as a rash, psoriosis, eczema, Rosacea, sunburn, blemishes, pimples or irritation in/around the area of procedure site. We cannot perform the procedure until the blemish or area of concern is completely healed.

  • have a mole in the area of the procedure. The mole must be removed and healed if before Microblading.

  • are on Retin-A or Retinols. You must be off medication for 7 days before appointment and avoid 30 days after the procedure.

  • are Diabetic (please consult your doctor).

  • have HIV, Hepatitis or any other viral infections and/or diseases.

  • are undergoing Chemotherapy (please consult your doctor).

  • have epilepsy.

  • have a Pacemaker or major heart problems.

  • have had an organ transplant.

  • are sick (cold, flu, etc. as it will affect the healing process).

  • generally don't heal well and develop infections easily.

  • have large pores or severely oily skin. Your results will appear softer, solid or powdered looking.

  • have thin, sensitive skin AND Rosacea. This will cause bleeding and poor pigment retention.

How Much does it cost?

The cost is $625, which includes a complimentary touch up within 45 days.

What if I have had previous Permanent Makeup?

If you have had previous work done by another artist, you must be pre-approved for the procedure.  You may receive a recommendation to first undergo removal before coming in for your initial appointment.

If your eyebrows are a highly saturated grey, red, purple, black or extremely dark, I highly recommend having them removed by laser beforehand.  If your eyebrows are faded or light, we are usually able to correct a previous procedure.  In some cases, the existing Permanent Makeup can negate the effect of Microblading, causing the hair strokes to blur.

Tattoo correction may incur an additional charge.  Please contact us for more information.

Is Microblading safe?

We follow all safety protocols as outlined by the Department of Environmental Health.  All needles are sterile for individual use and are fully disposed after each use.

Is it painful?

We use a high grade topical anesthetic prior to and throughout the duration of the procedure for your comfort.  Most clients feel nothing or describe a tweezing sensation.  Sensitive clients may require longer numbing.

Do I need to have a consultation before my appointment?

A consultation is not necessary. The initial portion of the appointment will serve as the consultation.  We will discuss my recommendation for shapes and colors.  I will answer all your questions and ensure you are comfortable and confident with the procedure.  Your initial appointment is just that, and we will schedule a follow up appointment within 45 days to fine tune the shape and color of your brows if necessary.

How long does the procedure take?

The total appointment time for your initial procedure is an hour and a half.  We will first numb the skin for 20 minutes while you fill out necessary forms and paperwork.  We will then consult regarding the shape and color.  The actual Microblading procedure is approximately 45 minutes.  Allow one hour for follow up appointments.

How do I prepare my skin for the appointment?

To achieve the best results with Microblading, ensure the specific area is healthy, moisturized and free from irritations and blemishes prior to your procedure.  If the skin area is damaged or broken, it is best to wait for it to heal.  Avoid Retinols, exfoliants and drying agents.  Dry and irritated skin will prevent optimal retention.

Is it okay to wear makeup the day of the procedure?

Yes.  Wearing your makeup the way you do everyday will demonstrate your routine and personal style.  If you do not wear makeup, come to your appointment with clean, natural skin.

Should I tweeze my brows before having Microblading?

We prefer to shape your brows during the consultation.  If you have unwanted gray hairs, you may have to use a brow tint or we can discuss removing them.  Microblading does not affect the existing hair, it only addresses the skin.

What is the down time?

There is no down time with Microblading.  Many clients will come in on their lunch break and return to work the same day.  Permanent Makeup on the eyes and lips may cause puffiness or redness for two days.  Color may intensify and appear darker for the first 4 - 6 days.  After one week the intensity will soften 30% - 40%.

Is it okay to wash my face?

We do recommend keeping the area clean with a gentle cleanser.  You will be given an ointment when your procedure is complete.  Apply the ointment with clean hands twice a day to avoid drying out the area of the Microblading.

What activities should I avoid?

We suggest you avoid sweating and prolonged exposure to water as much as possible.  Avoid swimming and sun tanning for 2 weeks after any procedure.  Only 3 products should be used in the brow area : moisturizer, oils or the ointment we have provided, or something comparable.  Avoid scrubbing the procedure area until fully healed.

Can I wear makeup as usual after the procedure?

After Microblading or Permanent Makeup, it is advised that you wait two weeks before applying makeup to the area.  Keeping the skin clean and free from cosmetics is important to the healing process and to prevent infection.

Is Microblading permanent?

All Microblading and Permanent Makeup will fade over time.  It is called Permanent Makeup because the particles from the pigments stay in your skin forever, although the saturation dissipates, eventually causing varying degrees of fading.  The longevity of the Permanent Makeup ranges from person to person depending on many variables.  Factors include natural elements, skin type, age, skin care regimen, facials, peels, sun exposure, sweating and exercise habits.  These can all affect how long your Microblading or Permanent Makeup lasts.  Most Microblading lasts 1 to 3 years.  However, Microblading begins to fade immediately because the skin cells are constantly shedding and regenerating.  You may find it necessary to touch up the Microblading every 1 to 2 years.

Is there anything else that may affect the Microblading outcome?

There are current studies indicating that Latisse may inhibit color retention indefinitely into the skin.  If you have used Latisse in the brow area within the past two years and do proceed with Microblading, you are acknowledging the inherent risk that your skin may not take to the procedure and there may be little to no retention.  No additional services will be provided beyond the customary process.

Please be aware that Microblading is an art and not a science.  We can only do so much to control the outcome of each procedure.  This is our craft and passion, we are deeply invested ineach client and the outcome of each Microblading procedure.

Aftercare Instructions

  • It is advised not to touch the eyebrows for 24 hours.

  • After 24 hours, the eyebrows should be cleaned gently twice times a day with mild soap, warm water and clean cotton pads.  Movement should be in the direction of hair growth, without forcing the skin.

  • Apply a thin layer of post-care ointment twice a day.  Do not apply excessive oil, this leads to the formation of scabs.  Do not apply Vaseline, Bepanthen, White Petroleum, A & D Ointments or other antibiotic creams.

  • Exposure to sunlight or any other form of UV rays are not recommended for one month.

  • Do not apply makeup to the treatment area for two weeks.

  • It is advised to avoid swimming pools for one week as chlorine can cause irritation to the eyebrows.

  • Sauna is not recommended for one week.

  • Activities that may cause sweating should be avoided for the first five days after the procedure.

  • During healing, small skin peels may appear.  Removal and peeling, use of abrasive creams or sea salts are prohibited.

  • A touch up session must be completed within 4 - 6 weeks of the initial procedure.

  • Please note that proper aftercare is the key to have a satisfactory result.

  • Immediately following the procedure, the eyebrows will be up to 30% darker and 15% thicker than the end result.  Please be patient and follow these aftercare instructions.

What will ruin microblading?

Water. During the time that the eyebrows are scabbing over and healing, it is strongly advised against getting them wet.
