Where is the tpms reset button on a mazda cx-5

This was a very cold morning, as is expected the TPMS warning light came on. On my '17 Mazda3 I'd just hit the reset button and it'd go away, but... I can't find a reset button on my CX-5???

Tire pressure is fine, and I drove around for a while and the light never came off.

Also, what's the point of having a "car status" section in the Infotainment if it doesn't even mention the tire pressure sensor warning? (It did on my 3)

There could be an actual fault of one of your sensors. Try shutting it off, restart it and drive for a bit. It should reset automatically if your pressures are good. The owner’s manual has more information.

There’s no reset button as the 18-19 CX-5s went back to a direct TPMS system with pressure sensors on the valve stem rather than the indirect system that uses the ABS sensors as the Mazda 3 was using in the 3rd gen models.

So are the 18-19 CX-5s better off with the stem-based pressure sensors or was it a bad decision on Mazda's part?

Oh, that would explain why my Mazda3 didn't beep at me all winter longs for not having TPMS sensors on my winter rims (did have to press the reset button when I put them on though)

Now let's hope the set of winter rims/tires I bought for the CX-5 have the sensors (bought them used). Or like my Tribute a few years back, I'll have a blinking light every time I start the car in the winter.

Sounds like one of the tires is lower than the others. If it's cold and you get that warning, find an air hose and go a few PSI over the recommended to eliminate this. I run my tires at 45 psi for better handling anyway...

level 2

Why so high? The Toyo A36s have a Max of 51 psi. Driving long distances and warm pavement can easily bump up your pressures between 3 to 5 psi....

The TPMS on our '19s is a better system. I had the older indirect ABS system on my 2017 CX-3 and it gave three false indications over the 2.5 years I had it. So far, so good with this one, but we'll see over the coming winter how it does. I usually run 36PSI in all 4 tires (as I did with the CX-3).

I rather have no TPMS honestly. The 2018-19 model I think you have to drive the suv/car like 50km before it resets itself.Issue is cold weather sometime give false readings.I ignore the flashing symbol if it does activate and just pull out the tire gauge and double check the readings.

Where is the reset button for the TPMS?

The TPMS reset button is usually located beneath the steering wheel. If you are unable to find it, refer to your vehicle's owner's manual. Inflate all tires to 3 PSI over their recommended amount, then deflate them completely. Be sure to include the spare tire, as it may have a sensor as well.

Your tire pressure monitor reset button is normally located underneath the steering wheel. If you can't locate it, check your owner's manual. Inflate all of the tires on your Mazda to three PSI over their recommended amount. Then, deflate them all thoroughly.

TURN THE TPMS LIGHT OFF IN YOUR MAZDA Turning the light off is simple. All you have to do is hold in the TPMS button typically located to the left of your steering wheel. After holding it in for a few seconds, your car will let you know that it's reset with a beep, and then you can release.

How do you reset TPMS without reset button?

You will need to turn all accessories off. Turn the key to the "On" position with the engine off for 20 minutes and then drive the vehicle above 16 mph for at least 7 minutes. Once the relearn procedure is done, the light will go out.
