      Description

CARDONE Remanufactured Power Steering Pumps are engineered to meet or exceed O.E. performance. Original designs are scrutinized for potential improvement, and where applicable, design upgrades are implemented to produce a more durable part than the original. All critical components are tested to ensure proper function. Every unit undergoes a hydraulic efficiency test to ensure reliable, long-lasting performance.

      Product Features:

      • All critical components (cam packs, spool valves, etc.) are triple-tested to ensure product reliability.
      • All units are built with 100% new O-rings and premium-grade HNBR seals to prevent leaks. HNBR does not break down at high temperatures like conventional seal material.

      • Units are supplied with 100% tested and calibrated pressure relief valves.
      • Final pump assembly is computer-tested to measure pressure, bypass, fluid flow, valve operation, steering effort and noise to ensure reliable performance.
      • As a remanufactured Original Equipment part, this unit guarantees a perfect vehicle fit.
      • Our remanufacturing process is earth-friendly, as it reduces the energy and raw material needed to make a new part by 80%.

They cut the shaft short and now the pulley is not aligned with the tensioner and the serpentine belt only sits on 4 of the 6 grooves... can come-off or tear-off anytime/soon. Will have to return mine, as soon as I get a new one.

        Bottom Line not recommended

        Came with bad "O" ring!

The part itself is very nice. I ordered it for the warranty/price and included low pressure tube attachment. When installed there was major bubbles and wasted two 12oz bottles of Honda brand power steering fluid. Turns out the factory installed "O" ring was totally bad. Wasted fluid and about an extra hour replacing "O" ring and bleeding air. Very upsetting! Would recommend the part but encourage to check installed "O" ring or have major issues.

You may also need to replace the steering fluid reservoir

You may also need to replace the steering fluid reservoir

        Submitted 2020-06-20

        From Carroll, Ohio

When my original pump failed, I installed this new pump. All went well and seemed to be fine with engine idling. But, at cruising speed the new pump produced a growling noise. I figured the new pump was bad, so I took it back for replacement. Installed the second new pump and it did the same thing. Turned out that there is a screen in the bottom of the fluid reservoir that had become partially obstructed by debris from the original pump failure. New pump worked fine with engine idling, but at higher RPM, the pump was running away from fluid and would cause cavitation, which produced air bubbles in the system and created a growling noise in the pump. I replaced the reservoir and flushed the system and all was well. Bottom line: consider replacing the power steering fluid reservoir and flushing the system when you replace the power steering pump. It would be nice if Advanced Auto would recommend this when you purchase a new pump or maybe even sell the pump and reservoir as a kit. I learned this the hard way, but all turned out well and I am happy with the pump.

How do you know if your power steering pump goes bad?

Here are six signs of a worn-out power steering pump..
There's a squealing sound when you start the car. ... .
There are groaning noises when you turn. ... .
The steering wheel is slow to respond. ... .
        A stiff steering wheel. ... .
The level of power steering fluid is low. ... .
The power steering fluid is grey..

How much does it cost to get a power steering pump replace?

While the price of this repair can vary, expect to pay between $500 and $800 to get your power steering pump replaced. Depending on your car, the cost could exceed that price, or fall below it.

Is it worth replacing power steering pump?

It is unsafe to drive without a functional power steering pump since it affects how driver inputs move the car. Steering effort is significantly higher on vehicles with a broken power steering pump, to the point where certain people in certain vehicles may not even be able to turn the wheel at all!

How much does it cost to fix a power steering leak on a Honda Odyssey?

The average cost for a Honda Odyssey power steering pump replacement is between $577 and $901..
Labor costs are estimated between $121 and $153 while parts are priced between $456 and $748..
This range does not include taxes and fees, and does not factor in your specific model year or unique location..
