Platinum performance healthy weight oil

Pro Platinum Performance is a superior equine forage balancer designed for horses in moderate to heavy work.

Our high specification formulas are carefully balanced using optimum ratios defined by the National Research Council. Targeting only the deficient minerals in forage.

It is a specifically formulated blend of minerals, vitamins and amino acids at optimum ratios to help balance the diet for both health and performance.

It contains key B vitamins to support the hard working horse and aid a calm focused outlook and prevent stress, without affecting ability.
Glucosamine and MSM are included to help reduce muscle & joint soreness and aid recovery in horses subjected to hard training. MSM is an important component of connective tissue,  playing a particularly important role in hooves, bones, joints & skin Glucosamine is the building block of all connective tissues, including cartilage. It’s a constituent of glycosaminoglycans, which are found in cartilage and synovial fluid, a thick, viscous fluid that reduces friction between joint cartilage.

Higher levels of Vitamin E as well as Vitamin C are added to help reduce oxidative stress.

In addition it contains optimum levels of both Bio-Mos® & Yea sacc TS (Concentrated form of yea sacc) to support the gastrointestinal health of horses subjected to digestive stress from high performance activities.

Pro Platinum Performance is manufactured in a UFAS (Universal Feed Assurance Scheme), BETA NOPS (Naturally Occurring Prohibited Substances), FEMAS(Feed Materials Assurance Scheme), ISO 22000 ( Food Safety Management System) certified state-of-the-art premix manufacturing facility.  Pro Platinum performance is produced using the highest quality feed assured ingredients under strictly controlled production conditions and conform to the requirements of EU and UK legislation governing the manufacture of animal feeding stuffs.

We recommend additional micronised linseed meal throughout the winter months or if a horse is fed predominantly hay/haylage , this is for the essential fatty acids that a horse may be short of when grass is restricted. Essential Fatty Acids cannot be manufactured within the body & must be present in the diet.

Pro Platinum Performance is recommended for:

  • High performance.
  • Enhanced stamina.
  • Strong robust hooves.
  • Healthy skin & coat & improved coat pigment.
  • Strong & healthy bones, tendons, ligaments and joints.
  • Strong immune system.
  • Muscle & nerve strength & development.
  • Healthy lungs and breathing.
  • Healthy metabolism.
  • Gastrointestinal health & support.
  • Strong liver function.
  • Faster recovery after hard training.
  • Calm focused behaviour.

Please note our guidance on the use of Salt: We do not add salt directly to our formulations.

Chloride in salt is naturally quite abrasive. So adding salt can lead to rapid degradation of vitamins used in our mixes if exposed to light, moisture and heat etc.

Addition of salt could considerably reduce the shelf life of our products. Our products are packed and sealed in carefully controlled packing facilities at our mixing house. We cannot guarantee how products are stored once opened by our customers.

We have a fast turnover of products and all our mixes benefit from long shelf lives. Customers can feel confident that their products will remain fresh and free from degradation.

Our Balancers and Premixes are formulated with the specialist guidance of World leading nutritionists at the Professional Mixing House Company we use.

We recommend all horses should have free access to salt. However, a salt lick alone cannot be relied upon to cover maintenance & sweat requirements. Many horses do not choose to use the lick enough.
The amount of salt needed is variable depending on how much the horse sweats.

For example a 500 kg Horse needs 10g of sodium per day (25g of salt) for maintenance needs, this is without exercise or sweating on hot days.
1 – 2 tablespoons of salt per day, added to the horses feed is a reasonable amount to cover maintenance requirements.

Working horses will require additional electrolytes. Dissolving the salt in water & spraying on to hay, can be an alternative option for picky eaters.

Suggested intake:
Feed 2 x 75ml scoops per day for an average 500 Kg horse.
Feed 1 x 75ml scoop for an average 300 Kg pony.

Do not exceed 2 scoops per day & adjust intakes if other trace element sources are used.

When feeding for the first time, introduce gradually over a period of 5-7 days.

Pro Platinum Performance is a powdered supplement which we recommend is mixed with dampened feed.

How long will a bag last?

A 4.2 Kg bag of Pro Platinum Performance will last about 30 days when fed at the recommended rate for a horse at 2 x 75 ml scoops per day. The same bag will last about 60 days if fed at the recommended rate for a pony at 1 x 75 scoop per day.

Nothing compares to this balancer for the horses that are in hard work/competition. Many higher priced balances are far less comprehensive.

My horse Pepper is a dressage diva and my best friend, and I have owned him since he was 3yrs old (he is 9 now). I have always struggled with his commitment to work, but since being on Pro Platinum Performance I have noticed a major difference in his work ethic. He feels like he really enjoys his work now. Having also suffered from stomach ulcers in the past, using Pro G.I. and then onto Pro P.P. he has become a happy, consistent partner. I have noticed he has increased stamina and his grey coat is so shiny you need sunglasses to look at him!

I have been feeding pro platinum performance for a year now. My horse was was showing mild irritations like sweetitch and head shaking. Having discussed with Mel we decided to move from the pro balance plus to the pro platinum performance to ensure the maximum vitamin and mineral nutrition was being received. Within weeks his coat intensified in colour from a pale bay to a deep mahogany with dapples! The itching had stopped and the niggly head shaking reduced to almost zero. His barefoot hooves remained strong and continue to work effortlessly bare without protection over varied terrain. It was wondered if he was suffering from a compromised immune system that really needed the full benefit of the pro platinum performance. He is very healthy now and the issues then are no longer a concern. I will definitely continue to feed the pro platinum performance.

Is flaxseed oil fattening for horses?

Oils rich in Omega-3 Fatty Acids, such as Flax Oil, can be an excellent way to add cooler burning fuel to the equine diet, as well as support your horse's health in many ways, including skin and coat, gastric and muscle health in addition to adding calories.

How much flaxseed oil should I feed my horse?

For full-sized (1100 lbs) adult horses with health conditions that warrant additional ground flaxseeds: Feed 2 cups, up to 4 cups (480-960 ml). Adjust amount to less than 1 cup if the horse is overweight and is not exercising. More than 2 cups per day should not be fed long term, but only until you see improvement.

What does camelina oil do for horses?

Camelina oil is commonly fed to horses as an omega-3 fatty acid supplement. It is used to support weight gain, joint health, coat quality and general well-being. Camelina oil is extracted from the seeds of the camelina sativa plant, also known as false flax.

What can I feed my horse to gain weight?

If you aren't feeding any grain, try adding a grain product meant for working or performance horses. These grains will contain higher levels of protein and fat that will aid in body weight gain..
    Rice bran..
    Flax seed..
    Vegetable oil..
    Dried granular fats..
