If you want to connect your LG TV to the internet with the ethernet cable, you’ll either need to have a long enough ethernet cable that reaches the backside of your TV or place the WiFi router near your TV. Just plug one end of the ethernet cable to the back of the WiFi router and another end to the ethernet socket at the back of your TV. Your LG TV will automatically detect and connect to the internet connection via the ethernet cable. For example, if your TV does not detect any WiFi connections and says “WiFi is turned off turn on to connect WiFi, it means that there’s some problem with the WiFi module installed on your TV. LG TV WiFi module If WiFi is turned off on your LG TV you should talk to an LG support representative to get the WiFi module replaced. However, before you opt for the WiFi module replacement, you must try a workaround. In case your LG TV keeps disconnecting from WiFi or WiFi is turned off, it also may be due to a small issue with the WiFi module. In most cases, it’s the WiFi module cable that connects the WiFi board to the WiFi antenna which causes such connectivity problems on LG Smart TVs. Loosening the WiFi cable might fix the LG TV network connection problems such as frequent WiFi drops and failure to detect wireless networks. Make sure to check 3 things after you have removed the back panel of your LG Smart TV.

Before you open up the back panel of your TV or go for the WiFi module replacement for your LG TV, try the following tip.
Now, try connecting your LG TV to a WiFi network. The WiFi connection drop issue should be fixed. This tip worked like a charm on my 75-inch LG NanoCell TV (2020). Troubleshooting LG TV Network Connection ProblemsIf you tried the fixes described above and your LG TV still keeps disconnecting from WiFi or you’re encountering network connection problems, try the following tips. Restart the Modem or RouterBlaming the TV for network connection problems is very easy. However, before you do that you should check your WiFi router settings and the connection itself. Turn off your WiFi router for 1-2 minutes and then turn it on. Check if your TV connects to WiFi or not. Sometimes you may have a network connectivity issue due to some problem from the network provider’s side. Call your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to ensure there’s no problem with the internet connection. Try connecting your other devices to test the connection, if you’re able to access the internet on other devices, try the next tip. To verify if the problem is with your TV or the WiFi router, try connecting your TV to your smartphone by enabling the Hotspot feature. Shorten the WiFi Network NameTypically, you can set any name for your WiFi network (0-32 characters). However, if the security type of your WiFi network is WPA2-Personal, I would recommend keeping the WiFi network name short (up to 8 characters). Try connecting to WiFi after you have changed the name. Change WLAN Network BandIf your internet service provider offers a 5GHz network and you have got an LG Smart TV released prior to 2019, you may have network connection problems because the TV won’t be able to detect the network and connect to it. In that case, it’s a good idea to change the network band from 5GHz to 2.4GHz. Open the WiFi router settings page in a web browser and go to Network. Look for Band and change it to 2.4GHz. Now, reboot your WiFi router and see if your TV can connect to the WiFi network or not. If you don’t know how to do this on your own, contact your ISP and ask them to change the network band to 2.4GHz and the channel to 6 or 11. Place the WiFi Router near the TVThe large flat surface of the TV and the antenna’s location (which typically faces the wall) might cause radio frequency signal interference. It may result in a weak signal or a WiFi connection drop intermittently. To eliminate the radio frequency signal interference, it is recommended to keep your WiFi router near the TV and insure that there’re no obstructions. Alternatively, you can also try a WiFi Repeater to strengthen the WiFi signal. It may help you enjoy a seamless connection if your LG TV keeps disconnecting from WiFi. Connect LG TV to the Internet via Ethernet CableIf there’s some problem with the WiFi module of your TV and it can’t connect to a WiFi network wirelessly, Connecting your TV to the internet with the ethernet cable is a better idea than going for a WiFi module replacement on your LG TV. Unblock Your TV’s MAC AddressIn case the MAC address of your TV is blacklisted by your internet service provider, you should get it unblocked.
You can do it yourself by opening the WiFi router settings page in a web browser and going to the router’s firewall settings. Reset Your LG TVIn case your LG TV can not establish a connection to a WiFi network and you have tried all the tips mentioned above, It may be due to some glitch on your TV. Try connecting to your wireless network by going to the Connection settings. Update LG TV Firmware to the Latest VersionIf none of the tips and tricks to fix the LG TV WiFi connection problems worked for you and your TV still keeps disconnecting from WiFi, consider updating your TV’s firmware to the latest version. Use Amazon Fire TV or Roku Stick or BoxWell, using an Amazon Fire TV stick or Roku stick or box is not a solution to fix WiFi connection problems but it might at least let you enjoy smart TV features unless the connectivity issues of your TV are fixed.
