From the time your gas light comes on how many miles have made it?

When my lights comes on the longest I've driven would prob around 50 miles

are you a v6 or i4? 50 miles.. thats crazy lol

V6 manual. Just over 30 miles but I had no choice. I'd like to run it dry with a Jerry can in the back but there's no way that can be good for an engine.

damn 50+ miles your pushing it..lol the most i think ill risk doing is maybe 35-45 miles the most..

5 miles. So that I can go to costco and buy gas.

I try not to go over 35 miles with the gas light on, especially on highways with no near exit in sight ( I start to sweat, anxiety coming). Its not good for your health I think.

53 miles in a v6 6mt. It was all freeway.

The light comes on before burning 14 gallons, and it's supposed to be a 17 gallon tank, so 50 miles should be easy on the highway. I get at least 25mpg, on the highway, in a V6, so that would be 75 miles worth of gas left. I do 30-40 miles after the light comes on all the time, and that's around town. It's harder to do that, when you don't know how far the next station is though. I will usually fill up right after the light comes on, but the wife tends to wait longer, so I will fill it up for her.

my gas light comes on so early. like on my old 6gen it wouldnt come on unto it had no more ticks left on the meter. on my current 7gen, the light comes on when i have like 2 ticks still. normal?

When my gas light comes on and I fill it up I typically put in 14 gallons to fill it up. Since the tank is 17.1 gallons that means I could have driven for 60 more miles conservatively estimating at 20mpg. So not too crazy.

My fuel light came on at 430 miles I drove another 120 miles before it was completely empty and died at the pump as I was pulling in to get gas. That was on a road trip from Tennessee to Missouri last month.

I have the 4 cylinder 2.4 dohc with a 5 speed manual.

If I were to run out of gas, I wonder if it would actually take 17.1 gallons to fill it back up? I'm temped to put a small can of gas in the trunk and find out. I'm just affraid I would run out, at the worst possible time, and it would take a while to get it re-started.

Probably not the best idea as any residue floating in your tank would end up in your fuel lines. Just look in the manual it says 17.1 gallons

You turn the key a few times to II and back to I, to let the fuel pump flood the tubes, before you attempt to start the engine. Once that I had to empty my tank, it took 4 pumps to get her going.

My Navi says I have about 50 miles to go when gas light goes on.
