Young Adult

Young-adult fiction (often abbreviated as YA) is fiction written for, published for, or marketed to adolescents and young adults, roughly ages 13 to 18.

The vast majority of YA stories portray an adolescent as the protagonist, rather than an adult or a child. Young-adult fiction (often abbreviated as YA) is fiction written for, published for, or marketed to adolescents and young adults, roughly ages 13 to 18.

Young-adult fiction, whether in the form of novels or short stories, has distinct attributes that distinguish it from the other age categories of fiction. The vast majority of YA stories portray an adolescent as the protagonist, rather than an adult or a child. The subject matter and story lines are typically consistent with the age and experience of the main character, but beyond that YA stories span the entire spectrum of fiction genres. The settings of YA stories are limited only by the imagination and skill of the author.

Themes in YA stories often focus on the challenges of youth, so much so that the entire age category is sometimes referred to as problem novels or coming of age novel. Writing styles of YA stories range widely, from the richness of literary style to the clarity and speed of the unobtrusive. Despite its unique characteristics, YA shares the fundamental elements of fiction with other stories: character, plot, setting, theme, and style.

We’re always happy to meet new members. We hope you have a magical time here. -- It's nighttime. You're walking deep into the dark woods, following the small glowing stones that gently light up the pathway. The summer breeze cools your skin, and you close your eyes to breathe in the beautiful scent of the trees. Sometimes you see a fluffy tawny owl perched high up on the branches, its beady eyes quietly looking down at you, and other times you spot a sleek red fox nearby, quickly running away before you come near it. The soft moonlight shines down upon the enchanted forest, and eventually, you reach your destination. In front of you is an old large tree, with a magical wooden door appearing from nowhere. A sign is written, saying: A Little Tree Hollow. You hear the light echoes of fairy music coming from behind it, and the delicious scent of cookies wafts out through the gaps. Like always, you give a gentle knock on the door, and the secret magical treehouse opens itself for you to enter. officially started on Jan. 19th 2022
