Beware... Using this product on the ionizer setting will cause everything in the room to be coated in dust. Please research how negative ions are dispelled into a room. The next day, my kids dresser, walls, etc. had a thick coating and I had to wipe everything down and wash their bed sheets and comforters. They also coughed a lot that night. However, the next night I put it on the UV setting and it made a huge difference. Little to no dust on their dresser, no coughing and the air in their room seems to be a lot cleaner. It's been a few days and still no dust in the room like it used to be. I like this product but due to the way the ionizer setting works, I had to take away one star. This product keeps the room cool and is very quiet on the low and medium settings.

I bought 2 of these about a year and a half ago. I vacuum the filters as recommended but as you can see from the picture it's filthy!!! It worked really well at first but after about 8-9 months it didn't seem to work as well. I've searched everywhere for the new filters and can't find them anywhere. This product is a rip off if you can't get replacement filters! Permanent filter? HA!!

I used to think these things were bogus and when I been using it for a couple weeks then moved it to another room I started sneezing, like allergy attack, so I moved it back in my room and again no allergies. Whatever it is doing I tested this theory multiple times in different rooms and it is legit cleaning the air based off my personal experience it even smells fresh after cooking heavy with it in the kitchen a few hours would go by and clean air no chicken or fish smell, didn't have to open the windows. Thank You!

I really like it. It’s not really loud, and it seems to work very well. If you clean out the filter every couple of months it really does last and last. Great product. This is actually the second one I bought. I have one for the upstairs, and downstairs of my house. Definitely decreases dust.

This really cuts down on dust and allergens in my bedroom. and it's totally worth a bit of noise.
It is noisy like a fan at full speed but med and low settings cut it down quite a bit.
It has to pull air through a filter to do it's job after all.
I leave it on med all the time and put it at the opposite side of the room from my bed so it's not too disruptive.
If you don't like white noise or are a light sleeper, put it on low at night and high again when you leave.
If noise is a deal breaker for you I suggest the more expensive static charge air purifiers, but the tradeoff with those is they produce ozone which some say is healthy and sanitizing and others consider it unhealthy smog pollution.
Make your own decision.
For my money this does the job just fine.

We had purchased a Bionaire filter some 20 years ago that has worked flawlessly until a power “brown out” last week that burned out the motor. I have read a lot about the noise level fro other reviews; for us the White Noise aided sleep by damping snoring and we missed it immediately. Now, even though this smaller unit is quieter, we can sleep soundly again.

This product does what it says. I use it in my bedroom and it does not affect my sleep by being too loud. I love the fact that it has this awesome side handle for toting.

Makes air smell pure, fresh, clean, within minutes. Filter removes easily, in seconds, for vacuuming the paper filter and rinsing the foam filter. Three speeds, the lowest is fairly quiet. Top speed moves more air and is good "white" noise.

This is very loud I have it in my bedroom. I bought the same name brand at Walmart and I love it ! Thought this would be the same, I try to be really ready to go to sleep, because if I don't the noise level of it keeps me awake for a while, and wakes me up during the night. I was looking forward to buying two more but will not be doing that for this particular item. If I had not been so quick to believe it was what I thought it would be I wouldn't have thrown away the box, and returned it.

Can I wash my Bionaire filter?

Simply remove the foam filter from your machine and wash it in warm, soapy water. Rinse and drip-dry the foam thoroughly before replacing it.

Can you clean the air purifier filter instead of replacing it?

You can rinse the filter in water, tap excess dust off of it or remove some dust with a vacuum, but this can definitely damage the mesh of fibers that allows the filter to remove particles from the air.

What happens if you dont change HEPA filter?

If your filter is not changed in time, it will be clogged with micro-organisms like bacteria, viruses, and mold particles. It won't be able to clean new ones and only capture them on the filter's surface.
