It’s strawberry season! Use these easy measurements and conversions to know how many strawberries you need to buy for your recipe or to preserve to eat all year long.

I love using fresh fruit in recipes but it can be tricky because the amount needed can be listed in so many different ways.

This includes strawberries one of my favourite fruits to use in recipes.

Maybe your recipe calls for cups of strawberries but you are buying them by the pound. Or your recipe could call for 2 cups of sliced strawberries but how many pounds do you need?

These questions come up all the time when you’re making recipes. So to make it easier for you I’ve worked out strawberry conversations to make this easy for you!

How Many Strawberries in a Pint?

It wasn’t that long ago that strawberries were commonly sold in grocery stores in pint or quart containers. You can still find them sold the way at some farmers markets but more often they are sold by the pound now.

One pint equals:

• 2 cups whole small strawberries
• 2 1/4 cups sliced strawberries
• 1 1/4 cups pureed strawberries
• 473 ml whole strawberries
• 532 ml sliced strawberries
• 295 ml pureed strawberries
• 3/4 pound
• 357 grams
• 12 large strawberries
• 24 medium strawberries
• 36 small strawberries

How Many Strawberries Are In A Quart?

One quart equals:

• 1 1/2 pounds
• 680 grams
• 4 cups whole berries
• 2 pints
• 24 large
• 48 medium
• 42 small

How Many Cups Is 1 Pound Of Strawberries?

Recipes often call for strawberries measured by the cup, but with them being sold by the pound more often now you’ll need to know how many cups are in 1 pound (16 oz) of strawberries.

One pound of strawberries equals:

• 3 3/4 cups whole strawberries
• 2 3/4 cups sliced strawberries

How Many Strawberries In A Cup?

Most recipes list strawberry as an ingredient by the cup. But they are never sold that way. Use these easy conversions to help you buy the right amount of strawberries for your recipe.

One cup of strawberries equals:

• 8 large strawberries
• 5 oz strawberries
• Whole 144 grams
• Sliced 166 grams
• Pureed 232 grams
• 1 cup whole berries is 1 /2 cup pureed strawberries

How many cups are in a package of frozen strawberries?

Buying frozen strawberries can be a great way to save money! Frozen fruit is often better quality than buying fresh fruit from the grocery store because it’s frozen very quickly after harvest.

It also makes baking strawberry treats easy any time of the year.

Keep these measurements handy when converting frozen berry packages to cups.

• 10 oz package is 1 1/2 cups
• 600 gm is 4 cups unthawed
• 1.7 kg is 6.8 cups

How many strawberries in a flat?

Are you heading to a pick your own strawberry farm or maybe you grow your own strawberries? Or maybe you’ve found a local grower who still sells strawberries by the flat.

This is a great way to buy strawberries in bulk.

Use these handy conversions to know how many flats of strawberries you’ll need.

A flat of strawberries contains:

• 8 quarts
• 12 pounds
• 32 cups

How many strawberries in a half flat?

A half flat of strawberries contains:

• 4 quarts
• 6 pounds
• 24 cups
