To personalize an item:

  3. Under “Add your personalization,” the text box will tell you what the seller needs to know. Fill out the requested information.
  4. Click “Buy it now” or “Add to cart” and proceed to checkout.

Don’t see this option? The seller might still be able to personalize your item. Try contacting them via Messages to find out!

Relief society birthday ideas for sisters
Recently, I was called as the Relief Society Secretary and one of my first jobs was figuring out what to do for the sisters’ birthdays. We needed some Relief Society sisters birthday ideas that were easy to do and didn’t cost a lot of money. We didn’t want to do just candy because so many of the sisters have dietary restrictions or really don’t want more candy. And these cute little pens totally fit the bill! Everybody needs a pen, they have zero calories, they are hypoallergenic, and cost less than a $1 each!

And the best part is that the pens would incorporate our ward’s Relief Society theme this year, “Be Not Afraid, Only Believe.” We are excited about the pens being a little reminder to the sisters throughout the year. These would also make cute birthday presents for Young Women’s or teacher appreciation gifts.

We were able to find the pens on Amazon and the overall cost to make them was way less than what it cost to send a birthday card.

And making them is easy. I include a PDF with the printables you need at the end of this post, or you can also use any cute scrap paper you like.

First, you will need a slip of 1″ x 3 1/4″ paper to stick inside. The inserts in my PDF are already the right size or you can make your own. Once you have your paper, unscrew the bottom off the pen, removing the ink tube. You will then need to roll up that piece of paper very tightly so that it fits inside the pen barrel. You can either roll it around the ink tube or I found it easier to use a skinny knitting needle. Also, if you are having a hard time getting it tight, try rolling it around something thicker first and then rolling it around the knitting needle. Then keeping the paper rolled around the knitting needle, insert it inside the pen barrel. If it unrolls before you are able to get it all the way in, you can scoot it into place a little using the tip of the knitting needle. Once it is in position, just put the ink tube back in by screwing the bottom back on.

You know how much I love puns, so I came up with a couple different variations so that you can mix it up throughout the year. I also included a version of the inserts that says “Charity Never Faileth” in case you wanted to include the Relief Society’s official theme.

Tip: The color copiers at places like Staples and Office Depot are way better than your home printer. Nowadays, they almost look as good as a professional printer. And with the price of buying toner for your printer, they aren’t much more expensive. But the price of the copy goes way up if you have them print it on card stock paper. So I always buy my own card stock on Amazon and then I just have to pay the price of the copy. It cuts the price per copy almost in half.
