“Ready! Get! Go!” is brand new recordings of unreleased Shaggs songs and new classics written by Dot Wiggin and her band!

The Shaggs’ “Philosophy of the World” quietly debuted 44 years ago and eventually became the crown jewel for outsider music fans because of its charming and discordant pop songs. Now, the Shaggs’ singer and songwriter, Dot Wiggin is back to break the silence and share her uncommonly cute, uncanny music on her 1st ever solo album! Frank Zappa said the Shaggs were “better than the Beatles” and Kurt Cobain regarded them as “so obviously the real thing.”

The Dot Wiggin Band retains some Shaggs-ish character, without missing a beat or trying to recreate what once was. The band is better at their instruments than Dot’s sisters were but retain the original crude allure that made the Shaggs so special. This record varies from raw punkish indie to pretty virginal melodies.

Dot’s whimsical lyrics are simple but haunting, without ever becoming formulaic or gimmicky. Her peculiar, sweet voice rolls along the different musical styles surprisingly well, tying “Ready! Get! Go!” together. It is exactly what one wants to hear after a 44 year musical hiatus – something reminiscent of the Shaggs, but refreshingly matured.

The CD & LP come with liner notes by Dot Wiggin herself as well as bandmate Jesse Krakow, along with photos, flyers, and lyrics so you can sing along around the campfire. The unforgettable front and back covers are by Jad Fair!

It may have been 44 years since Dot’s last record but 2013 will be the year of Dot Wiggin!

Download Music from Tumblr Using Chrome or Firefox

Downloading audio from Tumblr is an easy job if we make use of the Developer Options built into modern browsers. If you’re using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox on your PC, just follow the steps below to download the required audio from Tumblr and play it offline whenever you want.

This tutorial can only be used to download audio directly uploaded to Tumblr. Embedded content from other sites might require a slightly different treatment.

1. Open Chrome or Firefox and browse the Tumblr blog page where the audio is uploaded and wait for the page to fully load.
2. Click the Play button
3. Right click on the Audio Player and Choose Inspect Element.
4. Look for HTML section looking like  <audio preload=”auto”>. In our example, the exact HTML section was:

5. Click on it to expand and then copy the contents in the src block. From our example above, the code to copy will be:

   Tip – Double click on the code in the src block to select it. Then press Ctrl + C on Windows to copy it.

6. Paste the copied source URL in a new browser window or tab and click on go.
7. The file should start downloading automatically. If it does not and instead starts playing within the browser, right click on the Player and choose Save video as.. (Chrome) or Save Audio As.. (Firefox).
   
8. That’s all you were needed to do. Enjoy your audio offline.

The Alternate Way (Easier, but might not work everytime)

1. Open Chrome or Firefox and browse the Tumblr blog page where the audio is uploaded and wait for the page to fully load.
2. Open Developer Console by pressing the F12 key on your keyboard or by Right clicking anywhere on the page and choosing Inspect Element.
3. Switch to the Network tab and if there are requests still loading, wait for a while for all of them to finish loading.
4. Click on the Play button on the Tumblr webpage and notice the new URL for audio file appearing in the Network tab.

5. Right-click on it and choose Open Link in New tab.
6. Switch to the newly opened tab and right click on the audio player and choose Save video as.. (Chrome) or Save Audio As.. (Firefox).
7. Wait for the download to finish and enjoy your audio offline.
