Self-Represented Litigants can access the family court dockets by creating and using an account on the FJD Electronic Filing System. Accessing the docket is important because it will allow you to see what was filed and what court dates are scheduled.

You will then see messages saying you have been successful and an email was sent to the address you provided.

The confirmation email will contain your Username, Password, and PIN needed to login.

The Password issuance process is fully automated, and an email is generated within minutes of your request for a User Name. This email contains the User Name, Password and PIN. Should you not receive an email with your user name information within 30 minutes of your submission request, the most likely cause is a spam filter, most likely installed by your Internet Service Provider or your network administrator, which intercepts this email. The email may be in your "Trash" or similar email folder. Ask your ISP or network administrator to review your spam filters. Should you be unable to retrieve this email contact [email protected].

NOTE – the link between the EFS User Account and the user’s Family Court cases requires 24 hours. Once this link has been successfully created, litigants can log on to EFS using Username, Password and PIN and access their Family Court docket information as outlined below.

Weekly Motion Docket

Please note:  Local Rules 4.05, 4.06, 10.05(A)(1), and 10.08 have been superseded, in part, by a recent amendment to Ohio Civ.R. 6(C).  Effective immediately, civil and domestic relations motions shall generally be set for either oral hearing or non-oral consideration on the fourth Monday following the date of filing, and motions for summary judgment shall generally be set for the sixth Monday following the date of filing. 

Civ.R. 6(C)(1) permits that “[r]esponses to a written motion, other than motions for summary judgment, may be served within fourteen days after service of the motion.  Responses to motions for summary judgment may be served within twenty-eight days after service of the motion.  A movant’s reply to a response to any written motion may be served within seven days after service of the response to the motion.” 

If a reply is filed on the Friday before the hearing or non-oral consideration, a courtesy copy shall be directed to the courtroom, as previously required by Local Rules.

(UPDATED) Civ.R.6(C) provides that motion hearings and non-oral consideration of motions are generally held on the fourth Monday following filing (sixth Monday for summary judgment).  The schedule is published the Monday prior.  The Court will mail the Motion Schedule to all non local attorneys and self represented parties who have a pending motion on the upcoming week's docket.  This schedule is subject to change.  * If you have questions, please contact the appropriate Court office.  See directory link below or at top of page.

Filings and Obtaining Copies

The Tuscarawas County Clerk of Courts accepts all filings and maintains the Court docket and files. Copies of court filings can be obtained from the Clerk of Courts' office. The Clerk’s office is located on the second floor of the Tuscarawas County Office Building at 125 East High Avenue. The phone number is 330-365-3243 and office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM, except for legal holidays.

During the pandemic, the Court of Common Pleas, General Trial Division, issued Temporary Orders detailing how essential functions will continue to take place.

The court continues to prefer to accept court filings via regular mail, via fax to 330-343-4682 and via email to [email protected], but if an item must be hand-delivered it can be delivered to the Clerk of Court's office in the County Office Building or the Clerk of Court’s Title Office during the hours of 8:00AM to 4:30PM Monday through Friday.
