“Lockdown” is the seventh episode of the massive 24-episode final season. This episode will see Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) head to the Commonwealth to save their family. This will be Negan’s introduction to the community, and he will undoubtedly have some things to say about it.

Pamela Milton (Laila Robins), governor of the Commonwealth, will find residents demanding justice for her son Sebastian’s (Teo Rapp-Olsson) crimes. In the midseason finale, Connie (Lauren Ridloff) and her group revealed Sebastian’s shading dealing and distributed this information to the residents.

Rosita (Christian Serratos) and Mercer (Michael James Shaw) will work together to ward off a massive horde of variant walkers heading to the Commonwealth.

The episode is written by Julia Ruchman and directed by Greg Nicotero. Ruchman is a TWD veteran writer who has written four episodes from season 10, and episode 1118 will be her second episode of the final season, including “Promises Broken.” Nicotero has been with the series as a special effects creator since before the beginning and began directing in season 2.

AMC will air season 11, episode 17, “Lockdown,” on Sunday, October 2, at 9 p.m. ET.

The Walking Dead A New Deal

The next episode, “A New Deal,” is currently available on AMC+. This episode will air on AMC on Sunday, October 9, at 9 p.m. ET.

This episode was written by Corey Reed and directed by Jeffrey January. Reed has served as a writer on TWD since season 5. He wrote or co-wrote some fantastic episodes, including “Four Walls and a Roof,” “A Certain Doom,” and “Consumed.” January has directed episodes in seasons 5, 6, 7, 8, and 11. He directed Reed’s “Four Walls and a Roof,” which was co-written by current showrunner Angela Kang.

The synopsis for this episode reads:

Carol makes a deal with Pamela to wipe the slate clean on behalf of her friends. Aaron, Jerry, Lydia, and Elijah get on the road to Oceanside to fill them in on a plan. The Commonwealth celebrates Founders Day.

Amazingly, with all the bad things taking place, the Commonwealth still finds time to host a celebration.
