They charged me almost $400 because they said I was uninsured which was totally false. Even after providing proof of being insured, they will not drop that charge. Every time I call, no one wants to deal with my issue so I am just transferred to different departments until someone just hangs up on me. I am not in the state to even visit a local branch, so relying on customer service through the phone is frustrating. Still am working to drop this unrightful charge over 3 months later. Will never go through these people again, I’d rather pay a higher APR. Deward Gregory Although it’s taking time I’m moving away from MAFCU. Tellers seem untrained and one (the one I seem to always get) is snarky and argumentative. I’ve been given wrong information concerning rewards checking twice in past 45 days. All this for interest rate of 1/2 of 1%. The first month I was told the account would earn 1.5%, but I failed the number of debit card transactions for the month by ONE transaction (again, this acct included only part of the month). I was not given any interest and charged $5 for failure to meet all debit card transactions by ONE. I asked them to remove the charge and the rude assed teller just kept repeating “you knew the requirements”. I’ve been with MAFCU for well over 10 years. Strange you can loose a customer for $5 and rude tellers. The only branch in town is closed on Saturday. Lotty This place is becoming a joke. I don't think my local branch has ever replaced the head person at this bank. I just called because I'm a senior and have the rewards checking with 10 mandatory debits. I said we have been at home due to the virus and don't have the debits needed. Is there a policy for this since we aren't supposed to be out shopping or leave home? NOPE. Nick McLay Got a loan for a car here despite the fact that 3 Rivers is my bank. Midwest had an insanely low APR. It wasn't worth it. I have called them three times and stopped in once looking to have a couple of questions answered. I was treated very poorly just trying to make my payment at a drive thru, then I called in to ask a question about when they apply extra payments to principal and the person on the phone put me on perm hold, Third time they left to ask a mgr and never came back, fourth time I was lied to and told anything over and above the payment every month is applied to the principle with NO interest. NOT TRUE. Tomorrow, I am going to 3 Rivers and begging them to take over this load, please. I'm sorry I cheated on you three rivers!
