Program Overview
The St. Vincent Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency program is a 3-year residency which emphasizes comprehensive training in ambulatory and inpatient general Internal Medicine as well as its sub-specialties. Upon completion, residents will have the opportunity to work in areas of academic or community-based Internal Medicine practice or pursue training in various medicine sub-specialties.
Program Aims
- Instill in residents the total care of the patient, including elevating the experience of the patient.
- Develop residents who embody the concepts of community and population health.
- Provide pathways to fellowship while increasingly emphasizing community and primary care and retaining our trainees in NWO and the BSMH system.
- Develop leadership skills that can be used in the community they choose to practice in.
