The Lyrics for You Found Me by The Fray have been translated into 28 languages Show I found God On the corner of First and Amistad Where the west Was all but won But all alone Smoking his last cigarette I said, "Where you been?" He said, "Ask anything" "Where were you When everything was falling apart? Where all my days Were spent by a telephone That never rang And all I needed was a call That never came To the corner of First and Amistad?" Lost and insecure You found me, you found me Lying on the floor Surrounded, surrounded Why′d you have to wait? Where were you, where were you? Just a little late You found me, you found me Well, in the end Everyone ends up alone But losing her The only one who's ever known Who I am, who I′m not, and who I wanna be No way to know How long she will be next to me Lost and insecure You found me, you found me Lying on the floor Surrounded, surrounded Why'd you have to wait? Where were you, where were you? Just a little late You found me, you found me For early morning The city breaks But I've been calling For years and years and years and years And you never left me no messages You never sent me no letters You got some kind of nerve Taking all I want Lost and insecure You found me, you found me Lying on the floor Where were you, where were you? Lost and insecure You found me, you found me Lying on the floor Surrounded, surrounded Why′d you have to wait? Where were you, where were you? Just a little late You found me, you found me Why′d you have to wait To find me, to find me? Writer(s): Joseph King, Isaac Slade For me, this song is about suicide. The person is asking the people around him why they didn't do anything. Why they didn't stop him. "I found God, Like other have said before, I think this line refers to the narrator committing suicide on the corner of First and Armistad. He meets God and ask him where he's been all this time. "Where were you, Here I don't think the narrator is talking to God. I think he's talking to the people around him, who loved him. He's asking, where were you when I needed you? All he needed to stop himself from killing himself was a call. He needed someone to show that they cared. But that never happened. So he went ahead and killed himself. "Lost and insecure, Here I think the narrator's family/friends find him after he's done the deed. Lying on the floor, probably surrounded by a crowd and EMTs since we're assuming First and Armistad is a public place. He asks where they were and why they waited to help him. It's too late for them to save him. "But in the end, Here we discover the reason the narrator committed suicide. He's lost a woman very dear to him (probably his wife) to some kind of illness.I think the last two lines back up the idea that the woman died from a disease. When people are very sick, there's no way to tell how long they'll be there and you have to be thankful for every day. (Chorus) "Early morning, Here the narrator is yelling at God. He's been looking for God's help for a long time but God never replied. He's saying that God has some nerve, taking his wife. I think he's also saying that God has nerve saying that he'll always be there and then he never shows up. (Chorus) So there's what I think it's about. :) The FrayYear:20093:5979 Views Playlists:#1 Watch: New Singing Lesson Videos Can Make Anyone A Great SingerI found God on the corner of First in Amistad Where the west was all but won All alone Smoking his last cigarette I said where you been?
