Legend of zelda how many hearts for master sword

Campfire + Mash 'A' = Voilà

When it comes to Zelda weaponry, the old 'uns are generally the best 'uns in our book. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild might give you a wealth of cool swords and spears and glowing Guardian blades to experiment with, but once you get your mitts on the Master Sword — the series' sacred blade — it can be hard to go back to using anything else.

Pulling the Blade of Evil's Bane from its stone in the forest isn't simply a case of giving it a firm yank — you'll need have collected a not-inconsiderable 13 hearts before you have the strength to wield it. Well, that was the case, although a newly discovered glitch lets you collect the sword regardless of how much many hearts you've got.

Using just a campfire (which you create by dropping some wood at your chosen spot and setting fire to it) to 'rest', it's possible to take the sword from the stone simply by mashing the 'A' button as you awaken after some bye-byes. Apparently discovered by Bot_W on Twitter, we haven't tried it ourselves just yet, but Gaming Reinvented has and has made a video showing just how easy it is:

Once you have access to Korok Forest, you simple sleep at a campfire on the sword's triangular plinth and hammer the 'A' button when you wake up. You'll grab the Master Sword without the requisite number of hearts and will be free to unleash its awesome power much sooner in the game than you 'should'.

Good news for everyone, then! Well, not for the various monsters and ne'er-do-wells in the game, but don't worry — they're digital. Just recently we saw that the Yiga Clan will happily grab the Master Sword if a glitch is used to make them spawn in Korok Forest, so it seems the bad guys have an opportunity to become the hero of Hyrule, too.

Let us know below if you've tried out this glitch below.

Gavin loves a bit of couch co-op, especially when he gets to delegate roles, bark instructions and give much-appreciated performance feedback at the end. He lives in Spain (the plain-y bit where the rain mainly falls) and his love for Banjo-Kazooie borders on the unhealthy.

All of them? Is the difficulty exaggerated?

mastermode or regular?

master mode you want every advantage you can find

regular is more forgiving

Normal mode, it's not really incredibly difficult. If you've done Eventide Island it's essentially an expanded version of that. I did it with like 15 hearts.

Greatly depends on your skill level and patience. I'd say that 15-17 hearts is a decent baseline. More hearts gives you additional insurance, obviously. If you're very eager, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't try at 13.

Power is not alluring to pure minds.

Master Mode? Haven't done it, but from what I've heard of floor 10B, you probably want all of the hearts.

Normal Mode? 13 if you're solid on how combat works and make sure to set the Sheikah slate to scan for treasure.

If you have 30 hearts getting hit usually does like 1/3 of your life, so it depends on how good you are

Honestly, it doesn't matter much once you get beyond about 12 hearts for the Beginning trial. Eat a good enough Hearty Food before going in so that you're at 30 hearts, even if some are temporary, and your actual max health isn't too important since you probably won't be cooking food so strong you waste much, if any, healing. It's a little more important in the Final Trials, since you get to make a few Hearty meals, and there's enemies that will hit for a lot more damage, but still go in with extra yellow hearts and you should be okay if you're above, like, 15.

I did the Master Beginner Trial yesterday with ~13 hearts, and it wasn't too bad, since I had 17 yellow hearts as well. I only needed to heal once in the end. Even if you need to heal more, it doesn't make too much difference having a lower max, since you still get the same amount of healing (provided you don't, say, throw all of your good healing items into the same meal).

Everyone is entitled to my own opinion.

I'd say 15 is enough, but it all comes down to patience, strategy, and avoiding unnecessary hits. A lot of things can hit you for 5 to 10 hearts if you're not careful.

Depends. I found the trials to be pretty easy even without buffs, but some people found them to be difficult for whatever reason. That said, I'm a total scrub, so if I did it, you can too. Just use your head and be patient. If you feel confident in your ability to do this, then go right away. Otherwise wait it out a bit.

Also, the trials get easier as you go. The beginning have the most issues, the middle is significantly easier and the final trials aren't any harder than they were in normal mode because most enemies don't upgrade, you get NINE fairies, NINE ancient arrows, and SIX hearty meals. If you can make it past the beginning, you're set.
