How do you activate your phone on Verizon?

Go to vzw.com and sign into My Verizon account. Once signed in, select Devices from the My Verizon Navigation and choose Activate or switch device. From here, you will be able to activate a device you already own. You have the option to Activate on an existing line or Activate on a new line at the top of the page.

Do I need to call Verizon to activate my new phone?

Can I switch phones on Verizon myself?

Yes, if the device you want to switch to is no longer active on the account, you can switch to it. Note: You won't be able to switch a device if it is active on a different account, if there's still a balance due on it or if fraudulent activity is associated with its Device ID.

How do I transfer service from one Verizon phone to another?

To transfer ownership of a line through VZW.com, log into My Verizon. From the "Account" drop down menu, under My Devices, select Transfer your service. This will take you to the Transfer Your Service overview page, click Start the transfer to initiate the process of transferring ownership of your wireless number.
