How to put photos in a file

You may already have a method for sending photos from your phone to your computer, but what about the reverse trip? Perhaps there are photos on your computer that you want to use as wallpaper on your phone, or personal photos you wish to move over to your phone.

If you have an iPhone or iPad, you can set up a specific folder for photos and use iTunes in Windows or Finder on a Mac to make the transfer. On Android, copy the photos directly to the phone or an SD card using File Explorer in Windows or Finder on a Mac. Or sync the photos through an online photo storage site, such as Google Photos. Let's check out your options.

If you've ever tried to email a dozen or more business photos to someone, it may have taken a while to do that. You might not realize that the Windows operating system makes file management easier by allowing you to group related items in folders. One way to manage multiple image files efficiently is to compile them into a one file. You can then email that file, store it on your desktop or even post it on the Web. Windows Explorer has a built-in tool you can use to create a picture compilation quickly.

  1. 1.

Launch Windows Explorer and open a folder that contains pictures you'd like to compile.

  2. 2.

Hold down your "Ctrl" key and click the files you want to include in the compilation.

  3. 3.

Right-click one of the files you selected and move your mouse over the "Send To" option that appears in a drop-down menu. Windows displays another menu that contains a "Compressed (Zipped) Folder" option.

  4. 4.

Click that option to create a new ZIP file in the folder. Windows Explorer highlights that file. This file, which will have the name of one of your image files, contains the pictures you selected.
