How much do bussers make at texas roadhouse

When I was looking for one of my first real jobs, Texas Roadhouse was the first place that took me in, with minimal experience. It is a very fast paced, action packed environment, in favor of the sink or swim motion. You will see people either quit in the first week, or stay there for years. Having a job like this, really sets you over the curve in my opinion, since I have never had a job ever as fast as this one. I worked here for a few years, and was promoted from busser, to salad and fry. It certainly does have a lot of people that will be there for you, and if you work on the line, you’re literally conjoined at the hip basically. The pay was decent, and the environment is pretty cool, if you like the southern look. The dances that they would do was kind of weird, and the saddle for birthdays is pretty embarrassing, but this is certainly a job that you can not only move up in, but make good money doing it. We used to be able to see the sheets of how much money they would make a day, and it is 3-4x more than any other food job I’ve had. I would recommend either working here, or owning one, if you’re looking to make some roadhouse money. The only downsides I would say, is that they don’t really care about your private time. I worked here during my senior year of HS, and the amount of days they would schedule me during class was crazy. This is definitely not a job that you can work casually, or part time in. It really is a sort of lifestyle at a point.

ProsGood group of people, and money opportunities

ConsThey don’t respect your free time

Could’ve been better.

Without a doubt I have some amazing memories working here, my co-workers were great and I still keep in touch with some of them. The only thing is the management and the pay. I was overworked, and underpayed for my hard work. Certain managers were not understanding that I have other priorities such as school and my mental health. As someone who struggles severely with anxiety and depression, I did get support at times from certain managers but it doesn’t cover the times I have been invalidated, i.e. being told to stop crying because my job is more important. I quickly lost my trust for the managers and saw the management as money-hungry, I simply realized that working for this company and the management wasn’t worth it. Working almost 40 hours a week just for a $250 paycheck ain’t it, I genuinely cared about my job and my co-workers and managers but I feel that I was completely discredited. Although I do not agree with the management I do truly wish the best. I am thankful for what I managed to gain in my year of working with this company.

ProsYou get hours

ConsYou get underpaid

It was alright.

It wasn't the best job but not the worst because it did not matter which position you worked, you were doing someone else's at the second part of your shift. When you come in everything is unexpected due to the amount of people who wanted to take smoke breaks every hour or less and expect others to be the opposite. I developed a very good friendship with some of the managers despite the work conditions. Met some great people, but this is a job for entry level workers, college students, and felons who can't work where I work now. Summary: I would not work in places like these for more than 2 to 3 years.
