  • Make an appointment at a DMV office.
  • Provide license plate number or registration document for your expired vehicle.
  • Present your Connecticut driver's license.
  • Complete application for Registration and Certificate of Title (Form H-13B).
  • Provide current Connecticut insurance identification card. 
  • Ensure your vehicle has met emissions testing requirements and has no outstanding compliance issues.

Step 1:  Gather what you’ll need:

  • The Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your renewal notice, or
  • First and last names as it appears on your license or ID card
  • CT driver’s License or non-driver ID number
  • Date of birth
  • If you’re an organization, you will need your Secretary of State Number*

Step 2:  Have your printer ready:

Please have your printer ready before starting. Once you finish your registration renewal, you’ll need to print it out and keep it in your vehicle. Reprint your receipt.


Step 3:  Renew online:
