Have a small leak from one of the
threaded studs that mount the tranny to the tranny plate and frame. Does anyone know if that stud has a stop or does it thread all the way through into where the oil sits. Thanks for any info.

hey wolfsden it depends on which strud it is. 3 of them do go through the case and into
the tranny-oil.

common problem on old 4 speeds , back the studs out clean the
treads well and use some loctite red or blue it will seal the threads

Any waybacking out the stud with out fucking up the threads..Don't want to use
red loctite maybe blue. Is there anything better to seal the threads?

double nut the stud and back it out

yeah this bolt def goes into the oil. in my case it does... double nut it and heat the case!! the bolts are allways to be installed in a hot case! the threads are made for this procedure! they are tight as hell! there's a loctide product for sealing threads, you may use this one. in germany we have this, I think there must be someting in the states
