Fun things to do at a party for 13 year olds

Fact: teenagers are hard to please. Thankfully, we know exactly how to throw them the perfect teen party bash in Singapore...

Is your little one is not so little anymore and has a big birthday coming up? They’ve likely outgrown birthday celebrations at indoor soft play centres, or are way too cool for school for the bouncy castle birthday parties you threw in bygone years. But fear not! We know what teens really want to do in Singapore, and have scoured the island for the best party ideas and cool venues for teenagers. Think spa days, adventuring and even a spot of surfing! Read on for huge brownie points with your teen when you suggest the best birthday party ever…

Party ideas and cool birthday venues for teenagers in Singapore

1. Bounce Singapore

Party for real at Bounce Singapore on your teen’s big day! Perfect for a family-friendly bash, groups of four can bounce away on the trampolines to heart-pumping music. We love the duality of this party venue: burn off some calories and get that adrenaline pumping at the same time! Go one step further and learn the trips and tricks over a four-day period with Flight Academy Express’ coaching classes. Birthday pressie, sorted!
Bounce Singapore, Cineleisure, 8 Grange Road, #09-01, Singapore 239695

2. Activities galore: Orchid Country Club

There are so many different party options at this country club, your teenagers will be spoilt for choice. Whether the kids are into staycations, fitness programmes, bowling, or golf, the possibilities are endless here. Check out the food outlets, cos’ what’s a party without some delish grub right? From seafood restos, buffets to posh lounges, there’s something for every kind of teenage party. Oh, and did we mention the large event spaces?

Get that gamer teen off the sofa and into the immersive VR experience of their dreams at Virtual Room. It’s a whole other level of social gaming with this team-based virtual reality experience. Up to 22 people can play at once in teams of up to four people. All they have to do is strap on a VR headset and jump into historical periods to solve puzzles and challenges and work together to save the world!

4. Ready, steady, go: Intrigg Hobbies

Make your F1-loving kiddo’s dreams come true with a party by InTrigg Hobbies, where they will get to participate in slot car racing. Whatever is that, you ask? Well, it’s basically racing miniature vehicles on a table-top race track. The remote-controlled cars will move guided by grooves and slots. You can also customise the racing circuit, pick a background you want to race against, and choose from a wide range of car models and genres. They can even go where the party’s at as long as it’s sheltered and has a power source.

5. For budding foodies: Cooking competition at Expat Kitchen

It’s probably high time those teens of ours started being a bit useful in the kitchen. So get those budding MasterChefs to cook up a storm and make a party of it. Expat Kitchen’s cooking party is competition-style, with teams competing against each other to produce the best dishes using mystery ingredients. Chefs will be guided by the professionals whilst whipping up teen faves such as pizza, curly noodle frittatas, cupcakes and s’mores.

6. Beach bash: Tanjong Beach Club

All teens fancy themselves a little bit hip ‘n’ happening, so where better to show off their cool status than at the impossibly stylish Tanjong Beach Club? Teens will love its top-notch grown-up menu (we especially love the delish lobster roll with a side order of truffle fries), and the Club’s mellow beach vibe. If lounging around on the oversized beach beds is not your teen’s bag, then they can spike a volleyball on the huge expanse of sand at the club, followed by a dip in the 20ft infinity pool. Private area hire is available and a dedicated events team can customise the party. You can score extra points with your teen for hooking them up with a rodeo bull machine, dunking machine, giant Twister or giant Jenga. We want this party!

7. The great escape: Lockdown SG

Most teens spend a large amount of time and energy trying to escape. Be it from doing the dishes, tidying their rooms, getting their homework done or walking the dog. We say put those cunning teenage brains to good use and organise a teenage party at escape room venue, Lockdown SG.

8. Red carpet treatment: Gold Class at Golden Village

Who doesn’t like a great big comfy reclining chair, a fluffy blanket and a cocktail glass full of M&Ms when watching the latest blockbuster movie? Your teen will love a VIP cinema party with friends, plus the burgers or seafood linguine that are served at their chairs without them having to take their eyes off of the silver screen. Bonus: Wine can be brought to your own comfy reclining chair while you supervise the teens…

9. The day trip: Pulau Ubin

If getting your teen out of the house for some fresh air is a bit of a challenge, then why not up the ante and challenge those teens to a birthday treasure hunt? This will take some forward planning, but we absolutely love the back-to-basics vibe and natural beauty over at Pulau Ubin. Plus, we reckon the teens would secretly relish the chance of a trek and some treasure-hunting in the great outdoors.

Drop them off at Changi Ferry Terminal with their maps, water, sunscreen, some cash, bug spray, their backpacks (and probably a mobile phone) and a sense of adventure. Then pick them back up when they are exhausted, smelly with treasure in hand. Bike hire is also available over there as an alternative to trekking, and don’t forget to check out our guide to Pulau Ubin to help you plan the day!

10. The Physical Challenge: Forest Adventure

We say tip your teens out of bed and head over for an aerial treetop escapade at Forest Adventure. Think wobbly logs, rope swings, rickety bridges and a couple of leaps of faith. The perfect excuse for your teen to show off! The HoneyKids team has tried out the Forest Adventure experience and it’s definitely for fearless types (energetic teens will probably think it’s a breeze). Ziplining over Bedok Reservoir after mastering a challenge is an unforgettable thrill!

11. Speed demons: The Karting Arena

Teenagers are constantly obsessed with the notion of driving, but since getting a license is still a few more years away… The next best thing is karting! Let them tear up the tracks at The Karting Arena. This electric kart circuit Singapore boasts a long track with 11 sweeping corners, hairpin turns, all-new petroleum-powered Birel karts, and racing speeds of up to 50km/h. Wannabe F1 racers can live out their fantasies in (relative!) safety.

So there you have it! We hope this list of birthday ideas for teenagers in Singapore helps with your next teen bash!
