He took fresh cream, real butter, refined white sugar, brown rock sugar, a pinch of salt and plenty of time to create the now globaly famous products. Where is your product manufactured?All of our products are made in Germany with the highest quality ingredients. What are Werther's Original products made of?Werther's Original products are made of the finest caramel. We use real butter and fresh cream to make every piece something worthy of being wrapped in gold! What gives Werther’s Original products their rich taste?All Werther's Original products are made with quality ingredients; real butter and fresh cream to give them their indulgent, rich, smooth and creamy taste. Does Werther's Original only make hard candies?Although hard candies are where our story began, we also make indulgent soft caramels, long lasting chewy caramels, and No Sugar Added caramels. Can I bake or cook using Werther's Original products?Absolutely! Werther's Original Soft Crème and Chewy Caramels are ideal for baking. You can also use Soft Éclair Caramels for that
caramel chocolate flavour profile. Which of your products is best for melting?Our Soft Crème caramels are ideal for melting, as they're our softest caramel ever! Just melt on medium low heat, add a little milk or cream until you get the consistency you want. Can I purchase your products in bulk or large quantities directly from Storck?Unfortunately, we do not sell our products direct from our company. Our products are sold only to retailers and wholesalers. All retail products are available throughout Canada at major mass, grocery and drug stores. Where can I find the expiration date on the package?The expiration date of a given product can be found on the back of our packages below the ingredients statement. What’s the best way to store Werther’s Original products?All our products are packaged in a way that provides the best protection from the environment. Always store them in a cool, dry place away from strong odors, once the packs are opened. Where can I find the nutritional information for my favourite products?All nutritional information can be found on the back of our packages or reference our website www.werthers-original.ca on the products page. Are Werther’s Original products free from nuts?Although most Werther’s Original products do not contain nuts and we take the utmost care during production, there is a risk of cross contamination in the factory so we cannot guarantee that they are absolutely nut free. Are Werther's Original products Gluten-Free?Werther's Original products meet Health Canada standards for gluten-free foods (no more than 20 ppm of gluten per product), however, we have chosen not to label our products as "gluten-free" at this time. If you have a gluten allergy, we recommend that you speak to your physician before consuming our product. This information applies to the current recipes and may change in future; please refer to the list of ingredients on the product packaging. Are Werther’s Original products suitable for vegetarians?Yes, the complete range of Werther’s Original products are suitable for vegetarians. Are Werther’s Original products GMO free?All Werther’s Original products are GMO free. Are Werther’s Original products Kosher?All Werther’s Original products sold in Canada are free of pork, alcohol and by-products, however they do not have the kosher seal at this time. Do Werther's Original products contain alcohol?Alcohol is not an ingredient of the various Werther's Original products. However, some flavourings may contain alcohol as they can only be extracted with the aid of alcohol and therefore come into contact with alcohol in the course of the extraction process. The volume of alcohol that reaches the end product in this way is roughly equivalent to the volume of alcohol that ordinary fruit juices contain due to the natural fermentation of the fruit. What is the artificial sweetener used in the No Sugar Added Werther’s Original caramels?The primary sugar substitute used is Isomalt and the artificial sweetener used is Acesulfame – K (ace-k). The acesulfame K does not contain aspertame. There is no aspartame in Werther’s Original No Sugar Added Caramels. In addition, our product includes sucralose.” Since Werther’s Original No Sugar Added Caramels have no added sugar, are they also calorie free?Werther's Original No Sugar Added Caramels are 15 calories per serving. How many carbohydrates are in the No Sugar Added products?Each piece of Werther’s Original No Sugar Added has about 3g of carbs. The serving size of Werther's Original No Sugar Added is 1-2 pieces (5g) and the carb amount per serving is 4-5g depending on the flavour. We recommend checking the nutritional information on the back of the package. Why do your No Sugar Added caramels have a laxative warning on the package?These caramels contain Isomalt, a common ingredient found in most No Sugar Added candies, and you will find this same laxative warning printed on most No Sugar Added candy products. There is not a defined amount of candy that can be consumed before you will feel any ill effects & some consumers do not have any side effects. The laxative effect is determined by how your individual body reacts to this kind of ingredient.
