As you can see, the oil pressure of a Duramax engine is generally pretty low. Some owners are sometimes worried about this, but hopefully, this table shows you that a Duramax engine’s low oil pressure is normal.

When To Change The Oil Of A Duramax Engine?

How often and when to change the oil of a Duramax engine depends greatly on the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule and the specific type of car you have. We highly advise you to check the owner’s manual of your car to find this out. However, the general statement is as follows:

A Duramax engine should have an oil change every 5,000 – 10,000 miles depending on the car’s maintenance schedule. Furthermore, it is recommended to change the oil filter every 6 months (or 7,500 miles) and the fuel filter every year (or 15,000 miles).
