Replacing engine oil in your 2014 Kia Soul is quite an easy task. It's a bit dirty, but everyone can handle it. It will take about 3060 minutes depends on your skill level and might save you $10$30 depends on the region you live in.

First unscrew the refill cap on the top of the engine. Use a ratchet with the correct size head to unscrew the drain plug on the engine oil pan located on the bottom side of the engine, and drain old oil. You might need to unscrew a few more screws to remove protection covers underneath your car to get access to the oil pan and the oil filter. Then using an oil filter wrench unscrew the old oil filter. Then lubricate a new filter rubber gasket with clean engine oil and install the new filter. Install a new drain plug, and with help of a funnel refill the engine with new engine oil.

Please be noted that all capacities listed here are approximate. Check fluid levels when adding or refilling as recommended in your 2014 Kia Soul user's manual. Keep in mind that all information here is provided “as is” without any warranty of any kind.

Does 2014 Kia Soul use synthetic oil?

The 2014 Kia Soul's oil type is SAE 5W-20 oil. However, both 5W-30 and 0W-20 are acceptable due to similar viscosities in both options. You can also choose either full synthetic, conventional, or a blend, although the full synthetic version will give you the best performance (albeit at a premium price).

Can you put 5W

What kind of oil does a Kia Soul need? The Kia Soul usually requires SAE 5W-30 oil. The low viscosity of this oil ensures that it flows most easily in cooler temperatures but still runs optimally during the summer heat.

What kind of oil should I put in my Kia Soul?

If your Soul has a 1.6-liter engine, it will require 5W-30 synthetic oil. But if your Soul is equipped with the 2.0-liter engine, it will take oW-20 oil. But if you have an older Kia Soul, they were manufactured for 5W-20 oil. This applies to the Souls that are model years 2017 and older.

Does Kia recommend synthetic oil?

There are three types of oils – conventional, synthetic blend, and full synthetic. Kia recommends full synthetic oil to get the best performance out of your vehicle.
