They may make them, but they are not the same plug as the iridium Laser. I've had them side by side. Not similar at all... Sent from my iPhone using AutoGuide.com App

@joebrez NGK makes the motorcraft OEM plug its just a different label & box. I also went with my owners manual & gapped all mine to 0.054. Sent from my iPhone using AutoGuide.com Free App What PN finally went in? Like I said, if its not double platinum electrode and ground strap, I don't see a big advantage. Where is the dead horse???

@joebrez i held the OEM motorcraft right next to the NGK IridiumIX and they were identical except for name on them & a bit of color. The reason yours didnt look identical is because the iridium laser
isnt the OEM motorcraft plug. The iridiumIX is. Sent from my iPhone using AutoGuide.com Free App

@Final Impact is that the part # for the Motorcraft plug from owners manual?? I believe the laser iridium is NGK's top line of plugs and they were almost $5 more per plug. Either way, im glad i did research before just buying something & i feel i made a good informed decision. Sent from my iPhone using AutoGuide.com Free

I agree that it is strange. It also good be a Mazdaspeed part type thing. Take the springs for example, the springs are made by Eibach and look identical. However, the drop is slightly different due to a slightly different spring rate. That is what I meant by NGK making them, but not exactly the same thing. Sent from my iPhone using

Ya they very well could have a slight difference to them even being made by the same company in the same plant. Maybe next time im due for plugs i will go back to the Motorcraft ones. Sent from my iPhone using AutoGuide.com Free App Joined Aug 18, 2005 · 701 Posts

Screw taking the IM off every 40-50k! Sent from my iPhone using AutoGuide.com App No doubt!! If they are only meant to be in there for that long i will certainly go back to OEM which are 75k
intervals. Ive only put on 15k kms since install so ive still got a while to go yet before worrying about that again. Sent from my iPhone using AutoGuide.com Free App Joined Sep 2, 2012 · 2,660 Posts
Finally done. The car feels more responsive and quicker jump from a stand still. I did the spark plugs, EGR Mod and TB Bypass Mod. I broke the battery plastic tray where the hook to secure the battery clips on and the T thingy that everyone seems to break when doing the TB Bypass Mod. Here's what my plugs look
like.....Time for a HOT shower. Thanks for the forums... I couldn't have done it without you guys.
FWIW: next time you take plug pictures; this the end you want to show us!
What is the proper spark plug gap?The gap setting is different for each vehicle but most are somewhere between 0.028" and . 060". Consult the owner's manual or Champion ® catalog to find the recommended setting for the vehicle you're working on.
What should I GAP my NGK spark plugs?NGK doesn't recommend adjusting the plug gap more than . 008" in either direction. Beyond that slight adjustment, the ground electrode and center electrode won't align properly, hindering spark plug performance and drastically reducing plug life.
What happens if you set spark plug gap too small? What happens if the spark plug gap is too small? If the spark plug gap in your vehicle is too small, the spark won't have enough exposure to the fuel mixture to properly ignite it. The spark generated by a smaller spark plug gap is sometimes too weak to start the engine.
What happens if you gap your spark plugs wrong?Incorrectly gapped spark plugs could cause engine misfires. Corroded spark plugs could halt the spark altogether and, again, cause misfires. Broken spark plugs could, you guessed it, cause misfires AND if pieces of the ceramic enter the cylinder, could cause far worse issues down the road.
