Entrance to the Boeing B-29 Superfortress Exhibit and the 58th Bomb Wing Memorial at the New England Air Museum (staff photo) We last visited the museum in September of 2015, and were impressed with not only the facility and its content, but with the knowledge and friendliness of the staff and volunteers we met. It is located at 36 Perimeter Rd., Bradley International Airport, Windsor Locks, CT 06096 (greater Hartford area). The museum is open 7 days a week, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (except Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Year's Day). A small, reasonable admission fee is charged. Parking is free. It is staffed by volunteers and staff who do a great job of keeping the facility open and operating, restoring aircraft, and building new exhibits with only limited funding. Inside, visitors can view a variety of exhibits, dioramas, photographs, maps, memorabilia, research library and videos about the history of the Air Force, commercial aviation, and Connecticut history. Also located on the premises is the Wings 'n' Things Gift Shop, featuring shirts, caps, airplane models, patches, photographs and many other items related to aviation.
