Gourmand is the best scent category. FIGHT ME.
Also Hot Cocoa and Cream is gag-worthy to me. Smells fully putrid. However, Christmas Cocoa and Mint was okay.
Nothing in the store is worth buying full price.
Hoarding a scent because you're afraid it won't come back is only crazy in lotion. FFM and perfume hoard away.
Conversely, refusing to use a scent because you love it and fear it won't come back may also be a bit crazy. ENJOY YOUR SCENTS, PEOPLE.
You're the One white birch, velvety rose, and a drop of strawberry nectar (It's a bit confusing...the body cream, ffm, and 3-wick all list that as the notes. But the website states the notes are "soft rose, winter woods, and a drop of strawberry nectar". Very interesting, BBW. Which is it??)
If you like rose and you like fruit scents, and you haven't tried You're the One yet, what's going on? 😂 I fell in love with this one immediately after redeeming a reward for a mini perfume spray. I picked up the body cream during that holiday sale BBW had where all body care was 5.95. I wanted to make sure I still liked the fragrance before getting more of it. Well, after collecting the mini perfume spray, body cream, 3-wick, AND a single-wick, I think I can justify getting the full-size ffm.
You're the One is, at its core, a "perfume-y" fragrance. To me, the notes are very much rose+strawberry with a grounding base note.
When compared to BBW's plain Rose fragrance, the velvety rose/soft rose is fuller and deeper while Rose's rose note is more watery. Then, I tried comparing the strawberry note in You're the One to the elusive Strawberry fragrance. Strawberry is pure candied strawberries while You're the One's strawberry nectar note is more tart, allowing it to cut through those strong rose notes.
I'm assuming the white birch/winter woods give You're the One that "perfume-y" note, making it more complex than the average fruity floral fragrance. I combined some Rose and Strawberry mist into a mini Sephora perfume sample bottle and can confirm that it smells very basic even despite the fact that Rose is rose water and Strawberry is essentially strawberry syrup. Not saying it wasn't nice, though. I could see a fragrance like it being released for SAS. Strawberry Rose would get the usual body cream-lotion-ffm-shower gel release but not a whole collection if you catch my drift. (Side note, BBW if you're out there, can you make a whole fruity-floral collection happen, please? Blueberry Lavender, Citrus Daisy, Blackberry Lily, Apple Gardenia, etc.)
Also, it really smells like Coach Floral to me. The notes for that one (from Ulta) are Top: pineapple sorbet, Middle: tea rose, Base: creamy woods. Just from the notes, the basic formula is the same: fruit+rose+woods. If anyone else finds them similar, please let me know I'm not the only one that thinks this!

Magnolia Charm reminds me of the way a salon smells when an old lady comes in for a perm. I got it as a blind buy from an online flash sale but if I had smelled it in person I would never ever, ever, ever have bought it.
I had to return Magnolia Charm as soon as I smelled it because it smells exactly like perm chemicals to me. I normally love fresh and floral scents so it really surprises me how awful that one is.
Also, Pink Chiffon smells like plastic to me. Still better than Magnolia Charm— but not by much.
I will start off by saying that I personally hate sweet scents, anything mint, and no no to coconut and gourmand scents. However, these 2 scents, even though they have a gourmand note, called out to me for the $6.50 sale price. I could always return them if I hated them.
Ok so You’re the One starts off with a strawberry note. Not the pound cake one but the real strawberry 🍓from that Strawberry and blueberry line I found in the store in late summer. When it dries the rose comes out, with a slight hint of that strawberry. I don’t smell any winter woods but I can tell it’s in there cuz it smells warm. It is slightly sweet but not too bad. It smells like an expensive perfume. It starts out as very overwhelming but after a half hour it mellows out. It is as strong as Into the Night. I tried the FFM and the body cream. I like this but would not wear it everyday.
Winter Candy Apple. Well, I am just amazed at this scent!! Very happily amazed! I smell no candy, no cinnamon, not sweet at all to me. This is a very light pleasant flowery apple scent. It does not scream Christmas or winter to me at all, I would absolutely wear this year round. I tried the body cream but should have got a FFM too. Definitely a keeper!!

I was hooked right after an associate sprayed it onto one of the fragrance testing papers for me. I didn’t like rose scents at first but I’ve since converted. The rose notes are very much there but sweetly softened by the strawberry notes.
I picked up a candle and redeemed a reward for a mini perfume spray. I was tempted to get a mist during the sale today but I’m gonna be strong, use up the spray and candle first and see how I feel after that.
On another note, does anyone else find it suspiciously Valentine’s Day-ish? I know red is ubiquitous during the holidays but the wax for the candle is pink. And the name? It makes me wonder if BBW had plans for it to be a Valentine’s day release.
