I've wanted to have a go-to mix for chocolate milk and hot cocoa. So, I looked around and found the same recipe over and over...so I tried it. It's great! You can adjust it to be just as heavy and dark chocolate as you like, or go with the lighter milk chocolate taste. The mix works well for both. The only downer is that chocolate costs so much these days; but who didn't already know that? This is a great recipe, and you can't get any simpler!
Ingredients For homemade chocolate milk mix (nesquick)
1/3 c
high quality cocoa powder (i use hershey's, but there are better ones avail. on the internet..if you can afford it!) try://www.amazon.com/scharffen-berger-scharffenberger-natural-powder/dp/b000ospgj8?ie=utf8&tag=suga04-20&link_code=btl&camp=213
How To Make homemade chocolate milk mix (nesquick)
1
Mix together the dry ingredients and store in an airtight container, in a cool, dark and dry place.
2
You will likely want to experiment just a little to see what mix ratio you want to achieve the density of chocolate taste you want. If you need a suggestion as a starting place try: by mixing up some chocolate milk; For one 8 oz glass, start with 2 teaspoons of chocolate mix, pour in about 3/4 teaspoon of HOT water, and stir briskly until all is smooth. Add cold milk and DRINK!
3
To mix up hot cocoa, you will need 2-3 teaspoons of cocoa mix per 8 oz of milk (again depending upon your preferences). Add in a SMALL amount of HOT water and stir, until all is dissolved. Add milk. Add desired extract/s. Heat to desired temperature for serving. SERVE!
