How soon can you fly after having lip fillers

There are two things the doctors at SkinViva would recommend you consider though:

  • Plan your treatment in advance
  • Booking a follow up after your holiday

When to book a Botox or Dermal Filler appointment before a holiday

The best advice we can give you is to try and book your appointment at least a few days before you go away. Why? Because Botox and dermal fillers can take a few days to settle, especially Botox as it takes up to 2 weeks to fully relax the muscle (although you should start noticing changes around 4-5 days).

We always advise our clients to refrain from any strenuous exercise, alcohol and extreme heat (such as saunas) within 24hrs. So, the same could be said for treatment as it could potentially cause discomfort and be detrimental to the final result. More so than a danger!

Booking a follow up after your holiday

All of our client’s at SkinViva are entitled to a free follow up after any treatment. Particularly for Botox, client’s sometimes need adjustments after the 2 weeks “settling” period.

If you are unhappy within the first few days after Botox or dermal filler treatment, we will only book you in for a follow up after 2 weeks has passed. As the filler is settling and the Botox is “working it’s magic”, things can still change within 14 days after treatment.

Worried about any complications after treatment?

If in a very rare case you appear to have complications from dermal fillers, the treatment is reversible. This is why you should always seek non-surgical cosmetic treatments with a medical professional who can be trusted to deal with any issues that may occur. Usually these will happen straight away so can be treatable right away.

Rest assured, all the clinicians at SkinViva are not just taught how to inject Botox or dermal fillers. They’re all trained in how to deal with complications (such as droopy eyebrow) and designing treatments suitable for the individual. Let’s face it, no face is the same!

In summary, don’t let any of this put you off coming for treatment, but rather try to plan in advance. Particularly if you are wanting to look your best for your holiday snaps!

Answer: Flying after fillers?

Ideally, allow a clear two week period between getting your filler done and flying off on holiday.

This makes sense not just from a safety point of view; fillers can cause swelling and also need time to settle. The one-week-wait rule also allows time for any bruises – a common event associated with any injectable treatment – to heal as bruising can also be worsened by cabin pressure. The extra week after this period is a good safety buffer.

Although not commonplace, complications from filler injections can take a few days to present after your treatment. It’s best to ensure you are within easy reach of your practitioner during this time.

Experiencing swelling and/or migration, can be extremely stressful – not exactly a relaxing holiday vibe… So – safety first! – protect that beautiful face and don’t waste the money you spent getting fillers in the first place.

We all want to look our best in holiday snaps so do your healing before you go away and maximise the impact of your vacay glow up!

Can I fly after getting lip fillers?

Can I fly after getting facial fillers or lip filler? You should not fly for a minimum of a week after having dermal fillers – either facial fillers or lip filler. But yes – you can fly with fillers – so long as you leave an appropriate time post treatment.

How long after lip filler can I travel?

Ideally, you should wait anywhere from 3-7 days after lip injections before going on a long flight. This is to avoid worsening the expected discomfort and side effects of a typical lip filler procedure, such as bruising, swelling, and dryness, which longer flights (three hours or more) can aggravate.

Can you fly after getting injectables?

So, can you fly after getting Botox, or do you need to wait? The good news is that flying won't affect your Botox treatments, no matter how little time until you get on the plane. The fact is, Botox doesn't take a long time to settle in the facial nerves.
